Cramer-Krasselt wins 2021 Webby Award for Porsche x Star Wars: The Designer Alliance.
The Webby Awards recently announced that Cramer-Krasselt won a Webby for “Porsche x Star Wars: The Designer Alliance” in the category of “Best Auto & Auto Services in Advertising, Media & PR” in the 25th Annual Webby Awards Internet Celebration. Hailed as the “Internet’s highest honor,” The Webby Awards is the leading international awards organization honoring excellence on the Internet.
C-K, long-time North American creative advertising and marketing agency for Porsche, helped conceive and bring to life the effort between Porsche and Star Wars in advance of the 2019 premiere of the film “Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker,” which coincided with the launch of the Porsche Taycan, the brand’s first all-electric vehicle.
“At a time when brand partnerships are often meaningless, we created an authentic connection between these two icons, built around their amazing design chops, that will live on,” said Marshall Ross, C-K’s chief creative officer. “We, and our partners, are really proud of that and honored that our work has won a Webby Award.”
“Porsche x Star Wars: The Designer Alliance” brought together designers from both brands for an unprecedented collaboration: designing a spaceship. Over six weeks and multiple countries, the teams created a Porsche-inspired spacecraft that became a sensation with fans. The entire process was shared in a series on WIRED and the content became the most-watched YouTube videos in Porsche history. The ship created by the teams, named Tri-Wing S-91x Pegasus Starfighter, will also appear in future Star Wars content.
“Porsche x Star Wars: The Designer Alliance” has also been recognized by numerous industry awards, including the Creative Media Awards, for which it was selected as the “2020 Member’s Choice” awards, The Shorty Awards, ADC Annual Awards, and others. The program was a joint effort of Porsche’s agencies including C-K, Rocket the Moon (RTTM) and PHD Media Worldwide.
