Emplify Health came to us with a challenge—to make empathy differentiating. A tough ask in a world where every healthcare brand wants to be known for caring. Fortunately, most brands are depicting themselves in the same way—with imagery of hands touching shoulders, caring smiles and knowing nods—tropes that are so overused their emotional energy has been depleted. Empathy is a big, complex concept. We all know how it feels. But it’s extremely difficult to explain or show. That’s why we created Little Empathy. Our little blue character becomes the personification of empathy, making the emotion easily grasped and felt by all. Which made a lot of new friends for the brand. So much so that in just five months, awareness climbed an average of 28 percentage points across Emplify Health’s two key regions.
