Wanda McDonald

Wanda’s picture is in Webster’s Dictionary under the dual categories of financial whiz and multi-multi-tasker.

Whether she’s negotiating multimillion-dollar client contracts or overseeing employee benefits at C-K, she is involved in every decision that affects the agency’s—and its employees’—pocketbooks. From her post at the Chicago headquarters, she manages a team of finance, IT and human resources staffers across the agency’s four offices.

In her life before C-K, she was in finance at Publicis and the many iterations of that firm prior to it. But before settling on finance, Wanda headed into art and fashion design (she designed and made her own clothes then). And prior to that, she received a brown belt in hapkido, which brings us back to finance—and why we have her negotiate all of our contracts!

She is also one of the country’s first Hispanic female CFOs for an advertising agency of this size and named one of “100 Most Influential Hispanics” by Hispanic Business magazine. She is a member of the 4A’s CFO Roundtable, Member of Financial Executive Institute – Chicago Chapter, and has her BA from DePaul University.

Wanda’s favorite pastime is starting her work day early—very early—and threatening all of us with hapkido (not that we know for sure what that is) if our expense reports are late.
