Ryan is drawn to advertising because it’s not simply about smarts but about relationships – and the effort and understanding you put towards them.
He began his 17-year agency career by joining Crispin Porter + Bogusky in Miami as they began work on Burger King. Two years later he moved cross country to join Wieden + Kennedy. During roughly 11 years at W+K he helped transition the Old Spice business and spent 8 years navigating nearly every category of the Nike business.
At the NYC office of W+K, he led the Booking.com, Spotify, Equinox, Verizon and Wealthsimple businesses. Later, he was the first media hire at creative shop FIG where he started a media planning and buying practice, securing media strategy and/or planning/buying responsibilities with companies like Virgin Atlantic, Georgia Pacific, Macy’s, Seabourn and American Century Investments.
He’s connected enough with the media community to be named one of Gotham Magazine’s Top 100 Most Successful Bachelors in 2015, but modest enough to consistently laugh about it.
